Writer Bobby Barbara Smith Promotes Books

Here's what writer Bobby Barbara Smith said about her December 22 book signing in Mountain Home, Arkansas:

"What a lovely afternoon yesterday at the Donald W. Reynolds Library. Sixteen local authors were on hand for the Local Authors Book Signing/Sale event. We had a nice turnout in spite of snow flurries, with music in the Blackbird Cafe and a piano recital on the other end of the hall. What fun!"

"I nabbed every person who slowed down by my table & told them about NYMB! Many were drawn to the table, curious about the name. I had my postcard giveaways with photos of published covers, & up & coming ones, plus all the information I could pack on the backside. I passed candy kisses to the kiddies waiting for their piano recital, which drew the parents to my table."

Bobby has stories in the Not Your Mother's Book anthologies, and she realizes the importance of promoting the entire series. Good for you, Bobby, for going out on a snowy day before Christmas to tell people about these great, humorous books! Your postcards sound like a great idea, and it's always good to lure parents in by having something for the kids! I've noticed that you are very supportive of the series, and it is so appreciated by all of us who put these books together. Without you writers and promoters, we wouldn't be doing what we love! And readers wouldn't have these great, entertaining books to read!
